Teaching Philosophy
As a future educator I believe that creating a new vision for public education in Texas with appropriate and varied types of innovated updated assessments is extremely important. It is vital that we are active and generate essential content for developing students with different levels of thinking in ways which affirm and stimulate the efforts of young minds to elect higher thinking through theories and hypothesis. Classrooms should be warm and caring communities where I want my students to feel safe and welcomed!
The collection of data through teaching and research will also help inform other teachers to create better customized learning experiences for each student to succeed faster in a timely manner. Teaching different assessments should not be limited to nor even rely substantially on standardized tests that are primarily multiple-choice paper/pencil or on similar online instruments that can be machine-scored, rather, well-conceived and well-designed teachings should also be used to reveal to parents, the school, the district, and society at large the extent to which the desired learning is occurring and what schools are doing to continuously improve the education within the school.
Teaching should reflect and encourage learning with incorporated ways of recognizing its value and not just counting it as a credit in towards graduation requirements. My goal is to ensure the student has a firm understanding have learned in my classroom. The voice of students should be respected, and their feedback should be solicitated regarding their learning and their response to the tasks they are assigned. The voice of teachers should also be respected, particularly what they have to say about student performance, curriculum development, workload, and program evaluations.
All children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. I will assist my students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, and as well embrace the differences of others.
